Nigerian Breweries Plc has earned praise from financial stakeholders following its impressive Q1 2025 financial results, which mark a strong return to profitability and renewed investor confidence. The brewery giant posted significant gains across key financial indicators, signaling a rebound from previous struggles and pointing to a positive trajectory for both the company and the broader industry.

According to the Q1 2025 report, Nigerian Breweries’ total assets increased to N1.144 trillion, slightly higher than N1.138 trillion recorded in the same period of 2024. More notably, the company’s revenue climbed to N383.64 billion, resulting in a gross profit of N166.57 billion. Profit after tax stood at N44.55 billion, a dramatic turnaround from the N52.09 billion loss recorded in Q1 2024. Earnings per share also improved sharply to N1.43 kobo from a negative N5.07 kobo.

Financial analysts have welcomed the news. Mike Eze, Managing Director of Crane Securities, highlighted the quick return to profitability and its potential to boost capital market activity. He encouraged Nigerian Breweries to sustain the momentum, noting that renewed performance will likely attract increased investor interest ahead of the full-year results.

Chibueze Onah, CEO of Francona Services, praised the company’s resilience in overcoming foreign exchange challenges that previously affected its operations. He attributed the earlier losses to external economic pressures, particularly forex volatility, and noted that the recent stabilization in the exchange rate environment has created a more favorable business climate.

Onah also credited Nigerian Breweries’ improved cost-efficiency and resource management as vital to its turnaround. He expressed optimism that the company’s strong Q1 showing could lead to consistent growth through the year, strengthening shareholder confidence and cementing its reputation as a solid long-term investment.
