Dangote Industries Limited has once again cemented its reputation as Africa’s most admired brand, retaining the top position for the eighth consecutive year in the prestigious Brand Africa 100 rankings. The latest recognition was announced at the 16th edition of the Brand Africa 100: Africa’s Best Brands survey.
The survey, widely regarded as the continent’s most comprehensive consumer-led brand assessment, covers 30 countries and represents more than 85% of Africa’s population and economic activity. It offers a broad view of how African and global brands are perceived across key markets.
In the 2026 results, Dangote led the aided recall category ahead of major competitors such as MTN and Vodacom, while also securing second place in spontaneous recall, just behind MTN and ahead of Trade Kings. The conglomerate further reinforced its dominance as Africa’s leading industrial brand and was ranked the number one African brand contributing to a better society, reflecting its impact on job creation, industrialisation, and economic development.
Despite the strong performance of African brands, the report noted that they still account for only about 15% of the continent’s top 100 most admired brands, with global companies continuing to dominate the rankings. However, Dangote, alongside MTN and Ethiopian Airlines, continues to stand out as one of Africa’s most influential corporate players.
Brand Africa founder Thebe Ikalafeng emphasised the importance of strengthening homegrown brands, stating that Africa’s economic future depends heavily on greater support for locally made products and services to boost competitiveness on the global stage.
Beyond brand admiration, Dangote also scored highly in sustainability and social impact rankings, placing second among brands recognised for their positive contributions to society and the environment. The recognition underscores its growing reputation not only as an industrial powerhouse but also as a socially responsible corporate leader.
In addition, Dangote Industries’ Group Chief Branding and Communications Officer, Anthony Chiejina, was named among Africa’s 100 Most Influential Chief Marketing Officers in the inaugural Africa CMO 100 list. The recognition highlights marketing leaders driving brand growth and corporate reputation across the continent, with 17 Nigerians and 20 West African executives making the list.
The latest honours further add to Dangote’s expanding list of achievements, including its induction into the Brand Africa Hall of Fame and lifetime recognition awarded to its president, Aliko Dangote, for his long-standing contribution to industrialisation and indigenous enterprise development across Africa.
