Governor Peter Mbah of Enugu State has nominated Mr. Chijioke Okonkwo for the position of Chairman/Chief Executive Officer of the Enugu State Electricity Regulatory Commission.
Additionally, Mr. Chinedum Ukabara, Mr. Chuka Akunne, and Mr. Ruben Okoye have been nominated as commissioners in the commission. The nominations were communicated to the state House of Assembly in a letter read by the Speaker, Chief Uche Ugwu, during an emergency plenary session on Monday.
The nominees have been instructed to submit 25 copies of their curriculum vitae to the clerk of the House and are scheduled to appear before the Assembly on Wednesday, 13th March 2024, for screening and confirmation. The speaker urged his colleagues to thoroughly review the nominees’ credentials in preparation for the screening process.In addition to the nominations, the House also introduced the Enugu State University of Science and Technology Amendment Bill, which passed its first reading during the plenary.
