Taraba State is rapidly becoming a magnet for investment in Nigeria’s North-East, with its rich agricultural base, vast mineral deposits, and youthful population playing key roles. The Commissioner for Information and Reorientation, Zainab Jalingo, attributed this growing investor interest to the state’s strategic focus on these sectors. Speaking ahead of the upcoming Taraba State International Investment Summit (Taravest 2025), she noted that the government’s priority on agriculture and mining is intended to drive economic expansion and position Taraba as a regional hub for business.
According to Jalingo, Taraba’s attractiveness to both local and foreign investors also stems from improvements in security and the deliberate efforts made to boost the ease of doing business. These strategic interventions, coupled with the abundance of natural resources and the state’s youthful, energetic workforce, make it a compelling destination for investment. She emphasized that these strengths have made Taraba the most preferred investment location in the North-East.
The Taravest 2025 summit, scheduled for May 21 in the state capital, Jalingo, will be a platform to showcase Taraba’s economic potential. Themed “Unlocking Taraba’s Investment Potentials: Advancing Agriculture, Energy, Mining, and Industrialisation for Sustainable Growth and Development”, the summit will feature key discussions on financial strategies, sector-specific opportunities, and economic policy. Experts, economists, and government officials are expected to lead these conversations.
Commissioner Jalingo urged investors to take advantage of the state’s natural endowments and ready workforce to contribute to long-term sustainable development. She reiterated the government’s commitment to infrastructure development and creating an investor-friendly climate. With strong momentum heading into the summit, Taraba is positioning itself not only as a regional economic powerhouse but also as a viable destination for long-term, impactful investments.
