Stanbic IBTC Holdings appoints Kunle Adedeji as Acting Chief Executive

Stanbic IBTC Holdings has appointed Dr. Kunle Adedeji as Acting Chief Executive Officer, following regulatory approval.

This comes as Dr. Demola Sogunle, the current CEO, prepares to retire on October 31, 2024, after 35 years of service.

The Board expressed gratitude for Dr. Sogunle’s leadership and contributions.

Dr. Adedeji will officially assume the CEO role on November 1, 2024.

Dr. Kunle Adedeji has over 25 years of experience in the banking sector and holds multiple academic and professional qualifications, including a Doctorate in Business Administration.

He has held various leadership positions, including roles at Ecobank and Stanbic IBTC, and is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria and other notable organizations. His deep financial knowledge and leadership experience make him well-prepared to lead Stanbic IBTC.

Before joining Stanbic IBTC, Dr. Adedeji held positions such as Financial Controller at Ecobank and Chief Financial Officer at Stanbic Ghana, where he played key roles in the financial success of these institutions.

His appointment is seen as a strategic move for Stanbic IBTC’s continued growth.
