FG eyes new visa application process in weeks to improve accessibility – Minister

The Minister of Interior, Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, announced that the Federal Government of Nigeria is working on revising the country’s visa application policy to enhance accessibility.

At a stakeholders’ meeting in Abuja, Tunji-Ojo emphasized the importance of balancing visa access with national security, highlighting the potential benefits for investment promotion and job creation.

Tunji-Ojo emphasized the importance of easy access to Nigeria for investment promotion and foreign direct investment. He pointed out that it is necessary to simplify the visa process, particularly for short-stay visas, to attract more investment to the country. The goal is to optimize visa categories and make the process more efficient, to encourage greater investment. The Minister assured that the government is committed to implementing the new framework within the next few weeks.
