Nigerian Ministries and Customs Embrace Technology, sIn a joint effort to enhance efficiency at the country’s ports, the Ministries of Transportation and Marine and Blue Economy, along with Nigerian Customs, have agreed to discontinue the physical examination of cargoes.

The Minister of Marine and Blue Economy, Adegboyega Oyetola; Transportation Minister, Senator Said Alkali, and Customs Comptroller General, Bashir Adeniyi, reached this decision during a meeting in Abuja. The focus is now on prioritizing the use of scanners to tackle port congestion, emphasizing the importance of modern technologies for efficient cargo inspection processes.

This collaborative approach aims to ensure sustainable innovation in cargo inspection and consequently improve the efficiency of Nigeria’s port operations.
