At Rumuekpe, a village in the Emuoha Local Government Area of Rivers State, a new explosion was believed to have shaken a significant export pipeline in the Niger Delta, with roughly 12 fatalities reported.

The 180 000 barrels per day Trans Niger Pipeline, which runs through the town of Rumuekpe, is the location of the explosion.

With the recent development, Nigeria now faces the possibility of losing 180 000 barrels of export every day this month, which, if the pipeline is not immediately fixed, could amount to a loss of almost 4 million barrels of export.

He continued by saying that the explosion also claimed the lives of other people who had loaded the crude or were waiting to load, including ladies.
