Petrol, known as premium motor spirit, has becoming more scarce throughout numerous states. Among other places, it got worse in Lagos, Ogun, and Ekiti.

Oil marketers cited the 163% increase in the cost of renting vessels to transport goods from mother vessels as the cause. Highlighting how this had decreased many dealers’ purchasing power.

The IPMAN representative claimed that it was now difficult for the NNPC to continue funding PMS. The Major Oil Marketers Association of Nigeria’s representative, Clement Isong, told The PUNCH that the shortage was a logistics issue caused by a delay in getting items from offshore to onshore at the port.

The Independent Petroleum Marketers Association of Nigeria’s National Controller of Operations, Mike Osatuyi, told The PUNCH that there was no product delivery to its members.
