The Segilola Gold Mine, which Thor Exploration Limited commissioned in December 2021, has so far produced 85,000 ounces of gold; according to the Minister of Mines and Steel Development. He revealed this in Abuja at the opening ceremony of the 2022 Nigeria Mining Week.

The minister also mentioned that Kwara State was where Kursi Investment Limited was expanding its gold holdings. He continued by saying that the Federal Government was attempting to integrate artisanal miners’ regular activities into the legal framework for efficient administration.
Additionally, the minister noted that government mining revenue climbed from N2 billion in 2015 to over N7 billion in 2021. Major General Muhammadu Buhari, the president, advised mining companies to practice ecologically responsible business practices.
