Despite requests from other Conservative MPs, British Prime Minister Liz Truss indicated she had no plans to resign. She made this statement as she battles for political survival over her divisive economic policies, which caused market chaos.
However, Truss expressed regret for the errors she had made in her first month in office; she accepted responsibility for her disastrous economic strategy, which had caused market instability.
The prime minister claimed that she chose a new chancellor with a new approach; “to restore economic stability” in order to correct the problem.
The remarks follow calls on Truss to go from a number of Conservative MPs who cited her incapacity to manage the financial crisis.
