The Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPC) claims to have discovered a loading port; and a 4-kilometer (km) illicit pipeline that ran unnoticed for nine years from the Forcados terminal to the sea.
He said that the pipeline was discovered during a recent six-week crackdown on theft. “
According to Kyari, NNPCL conducted aerial surveillance of the impacted regions as part of its attempts to combat threat; and observed economic saboteurs carrying out their actions unchecked. He asserts that the current amount of oil theft creates a confluence of social and security issues.”
After more than four hours of lively discussion, committee members suggested that offenders be subject to death penalty. The plenary will examine this suggestion.
Kyari was to get ready for supervision activities at the Port Harcourt and Warri refineries by Mohammed Sabo Nakudu, the joint committee’s chairman, in order to confirm claims of rehabilitation.
