The Dangote Group is set to make a significant impact at the Kano International Trade Fair, running from November 22 to December 6, 2025. The multinational conglomerate confirmed full participation and sponsorship in the annual event, which is expected to host over a thousand exhibitors from Nigeria and around the world. According to Anthony Chiejina, the Group’s Chief Branding and Communication Officer, Kano remains a central hub for commerce, both nationally and across Africa.

Chiejina highlighted the company’s investment in large-scale rice milling in Kano, alongside other plants in Jigawa, Zamfara, Niger, Kebbi, and Sokoto states, with a combined capacity of 1.5 million tonnes per year. This initiative is part of Dangote Group’s broader strategy to support government-led food security programs and strengthen Nigeria’s agricultural sector.

At the trade fair, the Group will operate special help desks to encourage interaction with the public and prospective business partners. Visitors will also witness the launch of new sugar pack sizes—100 grams and 25 kilograms—demonstrating the company’s responsiveness to evolving market demands. The Special Day at the fair promises to showcase these innovations and highlight Dangote’s role in sustainable development.

The trade fair’s theme, “Empowering SMEs for Sustainable Growth,” resonates with the company’s mission to support small and medium enterprises. Fatima Wali-Abdurrahman, Senior Adviser to the Dangote Group President, emphasized that the sponsorship aims to provide SMEs with a platform to display their products, establish partnerships, and access new markets—contributing to Nigeria’s economic growth.

Kano Chamber of Commerce President Hassan Darma described the 2025 fair as unique, citing site expansions and improved facilities. He noted the Dangote Group’s crucial role as a sponsor, highlighting the ongoing partnership focused on SME development, backward integration, and industrial skills transfer. The event is shaping up to be a significant milestone for both local businesses and the broader Nigerian economy.
