The Youths Vanguard For Democracy and Good Governance has urged President Bola Tinubu to ensure transparency in the investigation of the suspended Minister of Humanitarian Affairs and Social Welfare, Dr. Betta Edu. The group called for the public release of the EFCC’s probe report concerning the alleged N585 million scandal in Edu’s ministry.
President Tinubu had suspended Edu in January amid public outcry over the scandal, ordering a comprehensive inquiry into the matter. The group emphasized the need for transparency and accountability in handling the investigation, urging Tinubu to reinstate Edu due to widespread hunger in the country, particularly among the underprivileged.
In an open letter to the President, signed by the group’s National President and National Secretary, Abdulkadir Abubakar and Adelola Poju, respectively, the group also appealed for an end to the media trial against the suspended minister.
