The Kogi State Government, under Governor Yahaya Bello’s leadership, has allocated N115,000,000 to cover the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) registration fees for 15,033 students in public schools across the state. Wemmy Jones, the Commissioner for Education, Science, and Technology, announced the initiative during a press briefing in Lokoja, highlighting the government’s commitment to providing free education for all Kogi children.

The gesture underscores Governor Yahaya Bello’s dedication to ensuring equal access to education for all students in Kogi State. This initiative follows the earlier disbursement of approximately N497 million to the West African Examinations Council (WAEC), ensuring that no student in Kogi public schools incurs any expenses before sitting for internal or external examinations.

The policy extends to all students enrolled in public secondary schools across Kogi State, as reported by kogistate.gov.ng. Governor Yahaya Bello’s administration has prioritized education by enhancing infrastructure, hiring qualified educators, promoting technical education, and eliminating financial barriers to education.
