The governor of Edo State, Mr. Godwin Obaseki, stated on Monday that the federal government might not be able to continue paying employee wages through June 2023 without resorting to huge money printing or eliminating fuel subsidies.

He instructed the employees to hold the government responsible for its policies and programs. “For the past six years, our government has upheld its promise to pay staff salaries and retiree benefits promptly and on schedule.

In Edo State, he continued, “We currently do not have any arrears of promotions because I have approved the promotion of all staff for 2022, which I believe will improve staff morale and productivity. “The governor praised the employees’ contributions to the state’s expansion and development.
