According to TotalEnergies, solar energy powers 50% of its more than 500 gas stations spread across the nation. Victor Bandele, Deputy Manager of Deepwater at TotalEnergies E&P, made this announcement during the just finished Nigerian International Energy Summit in Abuja.

Bandele said that running half of its stations on solar energy was one of its contributions to green energy and support towards Nigeria’s realization of its 2060 zero carbon emission objective during a session with the theme “Building Energy of the Future.”

By the end of 2023, the business hopes to stop normal gas flaring, according to Bandele. Bandele added that the company has fulfilled all of its gas obligations to the federal government and that it also aimed to increase its gas production.
