The Organisation of the Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC) and its allies have agreed to maintain their September 2026 oil production levels for October, as the group continues to monitor global market conditions and support stability in the oil market.
The decision was reached on September 6, 2026, during a virtual meeting involving seven OPEC+ countries — Saudi Arabia, Russia, Iraq, Kuwait, Kazakhstan, Algeria and Oman. The countries had previously announced additional voluntary production adjustments and reaffirmed their commitment to maintaining stability in the global oil market.
Under the October production levels, Saudi Arabia will produce 10.478 million barrels per day (mbpd), while Russia will maintain 9.949 mbpd. Iraq’s output will stand at 4.431 mbpd, followed by Kuwait at 2.676 mbpd and Kazakhstan at 1.628 mbpd. Algeria will supply 1.007 mbpd, while Oman will produce 841,000 barrels per day.
In a statement issued after the meeting, the seven OPEC+ countries said they had reviewed the outlook for the global oil market before agreeing to keep their September required production levels unchanged for October. They also reiterated their collective commitment to achieving full conformity with the Declaration of Cooperation, signalling continued efforts to manage supply and prevent excessive market volatility.
The group is expected to continue its monthly review of market conditions as developments in global demand, supply and prices unfold. The next meeting of the seven OPEC+ countries is scheduled for October 4, 2026, when members will again assess the market outlook and determine whether any adjustment to production levels is necessary.
