CardinalStone, Finmal Finance and Lambeth Capital Lead NGX Trading Rankings

The Nigerian Exchange Limited (NGX) recorded another week of concentrated trading activity as CardinalStone Securities Limited, Finmal Finance Company Limited and Lambeth Capital Limited emerged as the leading brokers across equities, fixed income and Exchange Traded Funds (ETFs). The rankings, covering trading activities between August 3 and 7, 2026, highlight the strong influence of major investment firms on Nigeria’s capital market.

Across all asset classes, the top 10 stockbroking firms handled transactions worth N141.62bn, accounting for 50.71 per cent of the total market value traded during the week. CardinalStone Securities maintained its overall dominance, recording transactions worth N41.71bn, representing 14.93 per cent of total market activity. First Securities Brokers and CSL Stockbrokers followed with N18.39bn and N12.86bn respectively.

The equities market remained the biggest arena for broker activity, with CardinalStone again taking the lead after facilitating N41.58bn worth of trades, equivalent to 14.95 per cent of total equity transactions. First Securities Brokers came second with N18.39bn, while CSL Stockbrokers ranked third with N12.85bn. Together, the top 10 equity brokers accounted for 50.67 per cent of stock transactions during the week, showing just how much trading power remains concentrated among leading investment houses.

In the fixed-income market, however, Finmal Finance Company Limited stole the spotlight. The firm led the segment with N78.36m in transactions, representing 33.05 per cent of total fixed-income deals. The concentration was even stronger in this market, with the top 10 brokers controlling 96.41 per cent of fixed-income turnover. Meanwhile, ETF trading produced another standout performer, as Lambeth Capital Limited led the segment with N330.88m in transactions and a 32.24 per cent market share.

The latest rankings underline the growing role of established brokers in shaping activity on the NGX, while also showing the different strengths of firms across individual asset classes. With CardinalStone dominating overall and the likes of Finmal Finance and Lambeth Capital leading specialised segments, the week’s figures offer a clear snapshot of where trading power was concentrated on Nigeria’s capital market.
