Meta Unveils Facebook ‘AI Mode’ That Turns Public Posts Into Instant Answers Amid AI Push

Meta has introduced a major new feature called “AI Mode” on Facebook, marking another step in its push to integrate artificial intelligence deeper into how users search and interact on its platforms. The feature allows users to ask questions in natural language and receive instant, AI-generated answers pulled from public content across Facebook, including Groups, Reels, and posts.

Instead of scrolling through traditional search results, users will now get summarized responses based on real conversations happening across the platform. Meta says the goal is to make information discovery faster and more intuitive, especially for users who already rely on Facebook communities for advice, recommendations, and trending discussions.

The update also ties into Meta’s broader experimentation with AI-driven community search tools. Last month, the company quietly launched an app called Forum, which includes an “Ask” tab designed in a Reddit-style format. Like AI Mode, it pulls insights from user discussions, raising questions about how accurate or reliable answers can be when they are generated from unverified public posts rather than trusted sources.

Alongside the search upgrade, Meta is expanding its creative AI tools on Facebook. New features now allow users to edit videos with collage-style effects, transform images, and apply AI-powered “photo presets” that can change clothing, hairstyles, and accessories. Sports fans, for example, can virtually try on team jerseys using the “AI Edit” tool in Stories or restyle their profile pictures with themed AI looks.

These updates are part of Meta’s wider strategy to make Facebook more engaging and AI-driven while opening new revenue streams through subscriptions. The company has already introduced AI assistants for creators, automated messaging tools for Marketplace sellers, and paid subscription plans across its apps, with more AI-powered premium features expected to roll out soon.
