Nigerian Breweries Plc has announced the appointment of Uzodinma Odenigbo as its new Corporate Affairs Director, effective May 1, 2025. This appointment follows the promotion of his predecessor, Sade Morgan, who now assumes a global role as Heineken’s Corporate Affairs Director for Africa and the Middle East. The announcement was made by Managing Director Hans Essaadi, emphasizing the company’s confidence in Odenigbo’s leadership and experience within the organization.
Odenigbo joined Nigerian Breweries in 2017 and has since played a pivotal role in shaping the company’s public, external, and governmental relations strategy. He began as Public Affairs Manager for Southern Nigeria and later took on national responsibilities, guiding regional managers and steering high-impact advocacy efforts. His work was instrumental in the successful implementation of the 2024 business recovery plan, helping the company avoid disruptions and unfavorable media coverage.
In July 2024, as part of his leadership development, Odenigbo was selected for a Short Term Assignment (STA) as Corporate Affairs Director at Brarudi, Heineken’s subsidiary in Burundi. There, he led a successful reputation-building campaign centered on sustainability, boosted internal communications, and advanced key business climate initiatives. His efforts contributed to improved export capabilities, local sourcing efforts, and critical tax advocacy within the East African Community (EAC).
During his time in Burundi, he also strengthened the Corporate Affairs team and rolled out the 2025 Corporate Affairs playbook, ensuring a smooth transition upon his return. Odenigbo, who holds both an MBA and a PhD in Mass Communications, is known for his strategic thinking, passion for stakeholder engagement, and commitment to continuous growth—qualities that align well with Nigerian Breweries’ evolving goals.
