The Office of the Accountant General of the Federation (OAGF) has assured Nigerians that the personal data of employees on the Integrated Personnel and Payroll Information System (IPPIS) is secure.

In a statement by spokesperson Bawa Mokwa, the OAGF confirmed that there has been no data breach, emphasizing the government’s commitment to maintaining a secure payroll system through the implementation of an ICT Security Policy aligned with global standards.

The OAGF clarified that no employee data is stored on its website, as the site is used solely for information sharing, not transactions.

It also addressed concerns about the IPPIS Validation Portal, explaining that it was deployed securely and shut down permanently after its purpose was fulfilled. The database used for IPPIS was purchased from HELIX-FONS, a trusted provider.

Reaffirming the system’s importance to Nigerian workers, the OAGF encouraged employees facing salary discrepancies to follow official procedures for resolution. This statement aims to allay fears about data security on the IPPIS platform.
