Dangote Sinotruk West Africa inaugurated a completely knocked down (CKD) truck assembly plant in Ikeja, Lagos state.
The event, held on Sunday, saw the presence of Senate President Godswill Akpabio and Lagos Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu. The new plant has the capacity to produce 10,000 trucks annually and is expected to generate approximately 3,000 jobs across Nigeria, contributing substantially to the country’s economic growth and development.
Governor Sanwo-Olu, in a statement posted on X, praised the initiative, highlighting its potential to bolster Nigeria’s industrial capabilities. He congratulated Alhaji Aliko Dangote for his continuous efforts towards industrializing Nigeria and Africa.
Sanwo-Olu emphasized the importance of such projects in positioning Nigeria on the global map of excellence and praised the impact of Dangote’s investments on the nation’s economy. Earlier on June 8, Akpabio and Sanwo-Olu toured the Dangote refinery in Lekki, Lagos state. Sanwo-Olu lauded the project. He described it as a dread that would elevate Nigeria’s economic status. Also, he expressed optimism about Nigeria’s economic future, citing the refinery’s potential to significantly contribute to the country’s projected GDP growth.
