African Diaspora Union Seeks Citizenship Rights, Visas on Arrival Support from Nigeria

The Africans in Diaspora Development Union (AFRIDU) has approached Nigeria’s Ministry of Interior seeking assistance in securing citizenship rights and visas on arrival for its members. During a visit to Interior Minister Dr. Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, AFRIDU’s Diplomatic Administrator, Dr. Onwubuya Abraham, requested support in streamlining entry processes for participants attending their upcoming event in October.

Dr. Abraham emphasized the importance of efficient visa processing for AFRIDU members arriving from different locations between September 27 and 30, 2024. Minister Tunji-Ojo pledged to review AFRIDU’s request, acknowledging its constitutional significance. He assured cooperation within legal boundaries, suggesting collaboration with the National Assembly for any required legislative amendments.

Tunji-Ojo recognized AFRIDU’s potential contributions to Nigeria’s development and commended their efforts.
