Mercedes-Benz stands firm against discounting, despite Q1 loss

Despite the challenges, Mercedes-Benz expects improved sales volumes in the second quarter, with a focus on defending current pricing levels, which the company considers to be at a high point.

The strong conversion rate resulted in a 3.2% increase in the group’s free cash flow from its industrial business, reaching 2.23 billion euros.

Harald Wilhelm, the finance chief, highlighted the company’s cautious stance regarding the global economic and geopolitical landscape. Despite uncertainties, Mercedes-Benz maintains its 2024 outlook, anticipating stable sales and slightly lower EBIT compared to the previous year.
