The Murtala Muhammed Airport Command (MMA) of the Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) announced that it generated N45.23 billion from importers at the airport in the first quarter of 2024.

This revenue marked a significant increase of 111% compared to the same period in 2023, according to Compt. Mohammed Yusuf, the Customs Area Controller. He highlighted that the command’s revenue collection surged from N21.36 billion in 2023 to N45.23 billion in the first quarter of 2024, representing a substantial difference of N23.86 billion.

Despite facing global challenges and the impact of an unstable exchange rate on the economy, the command remained committed to its mandate of revenue collection for the federal government while prioritizing the safety and well-being of citizens by curbing smuggling activities.
