APWEN urges government action on water challenges

The Association of Professional Women Engineers of Nigeria (APWEN), Lagos Chapter, has called on the government to address water challenges in the country to bolster the resilience of cities.

In a statement marking World Water Day 2024, the association highlighted the crucial role of water in fostering peace and stability within communities and nations, echoing the theme of “Water for Peace.”

Chairman of APWEN Lagos Chapter, Atinuke Wuraola, reiterated the association’s commitment to collaborative efforts with government agencies, including the Lagos State Ministry of Environment and Water Resources, as well as other partners. These efforts aim to enhance water security, promote gender equality, and empower women and girls in water-related fields.
