The Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) unveiled the Authorised Economic Operators (AEO) programme in Abuja on Wednesday, aiming to enhance ease of doing business and trade facilitation in the country.

Comptroller-General of Customs (CGC) Adewale Adeniyi MFR announced the initiative during a stakeholders meeting, emphasizing collaboration between the NCS, other government agencies, and experts to enhance AEO programmes.

CGC Adeniyi assured stakeholders of the NCS’s dedication to successfully implementing the AEO pilot program. He stated, “We are taking the steps with you with the implementation of the Authorised Economic Operator program, which hopefully will start from the 15th of April 2024. This programme aims to enhance efficiency and effectiveness in trade facilitation.
