Headline: Nigerian Exchange Gains N2.12tn as Investors Anticipate Dividend Season

The Nigerian Exchange witnessed another positive week, with investors positioning themselves ahead of the dividend-paying season, resulting in a gain of N2.12tn.

The All-Share Index rose by 3.71 per cent to reach 105,085.25 index points, reflecting renewed bullish sentiment in financial stocks fueled by expected corporate releases.The total market capitalization of listed equities also increased by 3.71 per cent, closing the week at N59.42tn, marking a significant 45.21 per cent year-to-date returns for investors.

Transnational Corporation Plc, Guaranty Trust Holding Company Plc, and Access Holdings Plc were among the top securities with the highest volume of activities. Julius Berger emerged as the leading gainer, gaining 30.58 per cent, followed by Omatek Ventures and MTN Nigeria.

However, International Energy Insurance Plc, SUNU Assurances, and LASACO Assurance were among the top losers. Analysts anticipate the bullish sentiment to persist, although the recently published inflation report and the outcome of the treasury bills auction, where rates declined, may impact the equity market as investors assess the implications.
