The Sokoto State government has announced plans to allocate N6.7 billion towards its Ramadan feeding programme, aimed at supporting the needy during the holy month.
Governor Ahmed Aliyu revealed this during the commencement of grain distribution to 18,400 orphans and destitute individuals across the state. Each beneficiary will receive bags of rice and millet, along with a cash amount of N5000.
The Sultan of Sokoto, Alhaji Muhammad Sa’ad Abubakar, commended the state government for its sustained efforts in implementing the Ramadan feeding programme. He urged affluent individuals to demonstrate compassion and support for the less fortunate in the community.
