Moruf Oseni, the MD/CEO of Wema Bank, affirmed Wema Bank’s commitment to actively support and promote women, disclosing that the bank allocated N8.9 billion as uncollateralized loans to support Nigerian businesses led by women.
Oseni made these remarks at the Wema Bank International Women’s Day program themed “Empowerment through Finance” held in Lagos. He stressed the significance of increasing women’s participation in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM), advocating for their representation in the digital space to foster diversity and innovation.
Oluwayemisi Olorunshola, the Chairman of Wema Bank’s Board of Directors, highlighted the transformative impact of the bank’s female-focused proposition, Sara. She noted that Sara has positively impacted numerous lives by providing physical, financial, intellectual, and other essential resources to support personal and professional growth among women.
