MainOne Lands 2Africa Subsea Cable in Akwa Ibom State

MainOne, in collaboration with 2Africa, has successfully installed the 45,000-kilometre subsea cable system in Akwa Ibom State, Nigeria.

This initiative aims to bridge connectivity gaps by linking Akwa Ibom and other underserved regions in Nigeria with Europe, Asia, and various parts of the world, fostering digital transformation across critical sectors.

The landing of the 180 tbps capacity submarine cable infrastructure is poised to accelerate the adoption of 4G and 5G technologies and expand fixed broadband accessibility.

Abayomi Adebanjo, Regional Business Head of MainOne, highlighted the significance of democratizing broadband access and facilitating technological empowerment across diverse sectors.
