During a session chaired by President Bola Tinubu, the Federal Executive Council (FEC) has given the green light for the construction of the Lagos-Port Harcourt-Calabar Coastal Superhighway.
The responsibility for this significant infrastructure project has been entrusted to Messrs Hitech Construction Africa, marking a pivotal development in Nigeria’s transportation landscape.
Bayo Onanuga, the President’s Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, highlighted the approval of the coastal superhighway as a key outcome of the recent FEC meeting. The decision underscores the government’s commitment to enhancing connectivity and facilitating economic growth across the country.
The initial phase of the superhighway project, covering a distance of 47 kilometers, is slated to commence in Lagos State. This strategic starting point reflects the importance of Lagos as a major economic hub and signals the beginning of a transformative journey towards improved regional connectivity and infrastructure development.
