Power Outages Affect 14 Communities in Ogun State

Over 14 communities in Ogun State are grappling with power outages attributed to technical faults in power installations, according to the Ibadan Electricity Distribution Company (IBEDC).

The spokesperson, Busolami Tunwase, confirmed the situation, highlighting a faulty breaker on the Ijoko 33kV feeder which caused power disruptions in parts of Ado-Odo/Ota Local Government. Affected areas include Sango, Gasline, Oyero, Onipetesi, Agoro, Olowoagolo, Okunola estate, Lagos/Abeokuta road, Elerinko, Shoprite, Abule-Iroko, among others.

In a conversation with The PUNCH, IBEDC expressed regret over the inconvenience caused to customers and assured that their technical team is collaborating with the Transmission Company of Nigeria to swiftly restore power supply to the affected communities.

The power outage underscores the challenges faced by residents and businesses due to infrastructural issues within the power sector, highlighting the need for prompt resolution and enhanced maintenance efforts.
