Government to Privatize Port Harcourt Refinery as it Resumes Operations

The Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL) has revealed plans to transfer the operational reins of the recently revitalized Port Harcourt Oil Refinery to private operators.

Ti enhance reliability and sustainability, the NNPCL is actively seeking reputable operations and maintenance companies for the Port Harcourt Refining Company.The move comes as the Port Harcourt oil refinery, which had been dormant, is brought back to life with the commencement of crude oil supply for test runs.

The decision to involve private operators aligns with the government’s strategy to optimize refinery efficiency meeting the country’s energy demands.This transition to private management is expected to bring expertise and efficiency to refinery operations.
