The Acting Director of Communications and Public Relations, Sidi Ali revealed through a statement made on Thursday that the Central Bank of Nigeria has cautioned the activities of some commercial banks and Pos operators on their contribution to naira scarcity.
Having heard the cries of many Nigerians that the Naira is unavailable for withdrawal, the apex Bank intercepted into the situation.
Point of Sales operators and Deposit Money banks were urged to desist from hoarding the Naira, considering it’s implications to Nigerians.
He added that Nigerians should also consider alternative mode of payments such as the use of online payments where the need arises.
