Alex Okosi Appointed as Managing Director for Google in Africa

Google has named Alex Okosi as the Managing Director for its operations in Africa. Prior to this, Okosi held the position of Managing Director for YouTube’s Emerging Markets in Europe, the Middle East, and Africa (EMEA).

With a background as the Executive Vice President and Managing Director of BET International and Viacom International Media Networks Africa, Okosi played a pivotal role in the growth and advancement of YouTube across Turkey, the Middle East, and Africa.

In his new capacity, Okosi will be responsible for supervising Google’s initiatives in Africa. These encompass programs designed to foster the growth of African businesses and economies, extend internet accessibility, and offer tools to enhance the online experience for numerous users.

Meir Brand, Vice President of Google’s EMEA Emerging Markets, lauded Okosi as a distinguished leader with profound expertise in both the media and technology sectors.
