Google’s Former Director for West Africa, Juliet Ehimuan, Joins Zenith Bank’s Board of Directors

Juliet Ehimuan, a distinguished figure in the technology industry and former Director of Google West Africa, has been appointed as a Non-Executive Director by the Board of Directors of Zenith Bank Plc. The appointment, effective August 29, 2023, was confirmed by both the Nigerian Exchange (NGX) Limited and the Central Bank of Nigeria.

Ehimuan is renowned as the founder and CEO of Beyond Limits and has garnered over 25 years of experience across diverse industries, including Technology, Oil & Gas, and New Media, spanning Europe, Middle East, and Africa. She has been a driving force in championing innovation, transformation, and leadership.

During her tenure at Google spanning 12 years, Juliet Ehimuan played a pivotal role in expanding Google’s presence across Nigeria and the broader West Africa region. She focused on initiatives to enhance digital access, promote local content development, foster skills acquisition, nurture entrepreneurship, drive innovation, and establish strategic collaborations with private sector and government entities.

Recognized globally for her influential work, Ehimuan has received accolades such as Forbes’ recognition as one of the top 20 power women in Africa, acknowledgment by the London Business School as one of 30 individuals changing the world, and inclusion in the Most Influential People of African Descent (MIPAD) list. She has also been featured in BBC Africa Power Women series and CNN Innovate Africa.

Beyond her role at Google, Ehimuan has significantly contributed to Nigeria’s and Africa’s tech ecosystems. She actively participated in committees that shaped the national broadband plan and ICT incubation strategy in Nigeria, and she has been involved in strategic advisory groups focused on economic growth.

Juliet Ehimuan’s educational background includes a Doctoral degree in Business from Walden University, an Executive MBA from the London Business School, a Postgraduate degree in Computer Science from the University of Cambridge, and a BSc in Computer Engineering (1st class honours) from Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife.

Her appointment to Zenith Bank’s Board of Directors underscores her deep expertise, leadership acumen, and commitment to driving positive change in the Nigerian business landscape.
