The Federal Government recommended President-elect Bola Tinubu’s incoming administration to boost anti-corruption and reform-minded institutions in order to successfully contribute to robust economic and public financing.
The Minister of Finance, Budget, and National Planning, Zainab Ahmed, said anti-corruption agencies were well positioned to guide and create government policies during the introduction of the Gender and Environmental Reporting Frameworks for Nigeria’s oil, gas, and mining industries in Abuja.
This occurred after she noted that the current frameworks developed by the Nigeria Extractive Industries Transparency Initiative would aid in resolving the negative impact of oil, gas, and mineral exploration in host communities across the country.
The agency plays a critical role in Nigeria’s economic landscape. The two papers were presented to the NEITI Executive Secretary, Ogbonnaya Orji.
