CNEEC and SINOHYDRO are building a $1.3 billion facility in Niger state, Nigeria, according to THISDAY.
It is the country’s second-largest hydroelectric power project, after the 760 megawatt (1,020,000 hp) Kainji hydroelectric power project.

According to Aliyu, the last time the Nigerian government completed a project like the Zungeru Hydroelectric Power Project was in the 1960s, and the massive investment in the Zungeru power plant is part of the federal government’s commitment to improve electricity supplies across the country.
