According to Mele Kyari, group chief executive officer of NNPC Ltd., the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited has already invested $1.1 billion in the building of the $2.8 billion Ajaokuta-Kaduna-Kano gas pipeline project.

He added that by the third quarter of this year, the pipeline would be powered. He said that as of right now, NNPC Ltd owes its contractors absolutely nothing and that all of their invoices have been paid.

Over 30 sites are currently operating as part of this project, and Kyari expressed great optimism about its completion. Prof. Yemi Osinbajo, the vice president, stated last week that the $2.8 billion natural gas pipeline project was 43% finished.

Punch.
