In One Week, Investors Lost N304 billion.

The market capitalization lost N304 billion to end the week at N27.963 trillion, and the All-Share Index decreased by 1.08 percent to close the week at 51,355.74. Investors’ year-to-date gains have now stabilized at 0.20 percent.

All other indices also ended lower, with the exception of the NGX Main Board, NGX Pension, NGX Insurance, NGX AFR Div. Yield, NGX MERI Growth, and NGX Consumer Goods, which increased by 0.73, 1.44, 1.41, 0.80, 4.37, and 0.17 percent, respectively, while the NGX ASeM, NGX Growth, and NGX Sovereign Bond indices ended level.

Transcorp Corporation Plc, an indigenous conglomerate, nonetheless, lead the gainers’ chart of the Nigerian Exchange Limited in the most recent week  as its share price appreciated by 44.97 per cent to close trading at N2.45, following the acquisition of over five per cent stake in the group by billionaire businessman, Femi Otedola.
