The Third Mainland Bridge in Lagos State will get a total of N23.33 billion in funding for surface maintenance. The Federal Government also approved an increase in the contract amount for the previous Enugu-Anambra road project. 11 kilometers, including interchanges, ramps, and crucial links, would be repaired during a 24-month period.

According to Fashola, the action is consistent with Executive Order 11, which was issued by President Major General Muhammadu Buhari (retired) in April 2022 and gave the nation’s national maintenance program legal standing.

The FG would handle surface maintenance to repair potholes and replace missing guard rails while the state’s Public Works Corporation will concentrate on the bridge’s functional structure, such as the underwater piles.

Council authorized a new deal, he declared for the maintenance of the pavement of the third mainland bridge and this was approved in the sum of N6.28bn for 24 months.

Meanwhile, the Council also approved a N17.05bn variation for the contract for the construction of the old Enugu-Onitsha road, whose current sum now stands at N48.99bn.
