PenCom Disowns ASSOPEP, Warns that the Group is not Authorized to Process or Pay Retirement Benefits.
The Association of Pension Desk Practitioners of Nigeria (ASSOPEP) is not associated with the pension business and does not have the commission’s permission to conduct pension transactions, according to the National Pension Commission (PenCom).
The commission also made clear that ASSOPEP has no connection to Licensed Pension Fund Operators (LPFOs), who are legally required to handle the processing and payment of retirement benefits.
PenCom stated that the association had been involved in illegal operations in the sector in a statement released by the management and provided to THISDAY, and cautioned members of the public not to patronize them in their own benefit.
