Alison-Madueke, Aluko, and Omokore’s Fraud Proceeds were Recovered by the US for Nearly $53 million.

The U.S. Department of Justice said that two civil actions seeking the forfeiture of different opulent assets that were the proceeds of international corruption offenses and were laundered in and through the US had reached their final settlement.

Olajide Omokore, Kolawole Akanni, and Diezani Alison-Madueke, a former minister of petroleum resources, were named in the lawsuits. Additionally, loans to Mr. Aluko and the shell corporations he controlled were secured by real estate.

Ex-Minister Alison-Madueke, Mr. Omokore, and Mr. Aluko have also been accused of corruption in the oil industry and are the subjects of criminal proceedings in Nigeria. She is thought to be living in exile in the UK.
