Vice President Yemi Osinbajo said the ongoing situation between Russia and Ukraine should serve as a wake-up call for African governments to prioritize food self-sufficiency.

He added that digitization continues to be Africa’s best chance to make significant advancements in the grand scheme of things.

Osinbajo asserted that Africa may use digitalization to permanently alter the path of its fate. He noted that around half of all mobile money accounts worldwide are located in Africa.

Senior government officials, including Nigeria’s High Commissioner to the UK, Ambassador Sarafa Tunji Isola, also accompanied the VP to the open lecture.
