Hadiza Dagabana, the National Identity Management Commission’s director of legal and regulatory affairs, has demanded that the Public Procurement Act be changed. She stated: “In 2007, the Public Procurement Act was adopted.

There are several holes in the Act since so many things have changed throughout the years.”

The acting director of procurement at NIMC, Princess Iwok, called on public institutions in Nigeria to embrace transparency and accountability in all of their transactions while reiterating that sanctions apply for breaking the public procurement law in her overview of the Act and its convergence with the World Bank Procurement Regulations for Borrowers.
