The Nigerian Exchange Limited (NGX) stock market began the new trading week yesterday by extending its losing streak for the seventh session in a row as investors’ gloomy attitude drove the market capitalization down by N16 billion.
The market capitalization dropped by N16 billion to conclude at N29.900 trillion, while the NGX All Share Index (ASI) dropped by 29.35 basis points, or 0.05%, to close at 54,886.04 basis points.
Ikeja Hotel, on the other hand, topped the losers’ table by 9.52% to settle at N1.14 per share. With 3,066 transactions, the total amount traded increased by 646.50% to 1.172 billion units, worth N2.877 billion.
