The Nigerian Communication Commission announced intentions to implement measures on Thursday in order to prevent data depletion and guarantee that telecom consumers receive value for their money.

The commission highlighted that one of the most common concerns from telecom customers was data depletion.

This was said by Prof. Umar Danbata, Executive Vice Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of the National Communications Commission (NCC), at the 91st Telecom Consumer Parliament, titled “Data depletion: Debates on Different Views,” which was held in Abuja.

The majority of the complaints, according to Danbata, were brought on by the recent switchover of the customer to 4G/LTE technology.

He pointed out that consumers had been reporting their data usage or consumption-related data depletion problems to the commission on a regular basis.
