The Murtala Muhammed International Airport in Lagos will be closed for eight weeks for repair, according to a statement from the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria. International planes are only permitted to use Runways 18R and 36L.
The Federal Government has now redirected all international aircraft to Runways 18L and 36R in the domestic wing of the Lagos airport as a result of the development.
Taxiway B-18L will be utilized in its place for all flight operations up until repair is finished, FAAN said in a statement. Stakeholders, however, have expressed contrasting opinions on the development.
